A friend of mine asked me the other day, “So, why the blog?” Now, this is a very good friend of mine. A friend that I can always count on for honest answers and questions. (Above is a picture of the coffee mug she surprised me with after my son was born.)
Well, good friend, I’m glad you asked.
Why did I start this blog? Because I’m bored and have nothing else to do. Hahaha! Read this: neverblogbeforecoffee.com/add-boredom-into-your-life.
I started Never Blog Before Coffee for these 6 honest reasons. Here they are:
Writing a blog is like therapy to me. You’ve heard people say journaling is a great way to get your thoughts and feelings out. So is blogging. It’s essentially the same thing, except other people will be reading it. So I choose my topics wisely, of course.
To learn more about blogging and analytics for later business purposes.
I currently own my own marketing and creative services business. There is a big difference between running a corporate blog and writing on your own. I’ve already learned several important things I would not have otherwise. I think it’s great to learn through doing. That’s my philosophy.
To help people.
It’s a rush being able to reach people through my writing. It’s helpful to me and the reader. I’d like this blog to become a resource for people all over the place. From tips about Omaha and parenting, to pet-related topics and being an adult, there’s so much to talk about! I can’t wait to see more people clicking out my blog.
It’s a way to get to know Nebraska.
I plan to write about Omaha a lot. I will be eating at restaurants in order to review them. It’s an excellent excuse for a date night. I’ll be talking about my favorite spot to go in Omaha and feel completely calm ($15.00 to whoever guesses it!). It’s going to be a lot of fun. My first Omaha post had over 600 visitors in less than 24 hours! That was insanely exciting for me.
To entertain people.
Sometimes I think I’m pretty funny. My husband is the witty one. He’s funny, too, but mostly witty. I also think if I write down my thoughts here, I might lay off preaching about these things to my little sister. She’s glad I started this blog, too.
Because I enjoy it.
It’s pretty relaxing for me to sit down and write. I like getting my thoughts down in this way. In fact, it seems to help organize my life a bit more. I also think that people should do what they enjoy more often. If something really makes you smile, do that more (unless it’s illegal). Is there something that makes you feel better? Blogging and socializing with people through my blog is enjoyable for me.
Thank you for the support. I appreciate each and every one of you reading this blog. I’ve been meaning to do it for a while now and I’m glad I did. Let’s see where it takes me in the next year! Come on and enjoy the ride! Don’t forget to bring your coffee along with you.
This blog was written after a fun Friday with a friend. I can’t remember if she drank coffee. I did.
